I have always loved the water. What I never had were good swimming skills.
For most of my life, the deep end was something I stayed away from. Not because I didn’t want to be there — I did — but because I was never quite sure what would happen if something went wrong. So I stayed where I could stand, and told myself that was enough.
That hesitation shaped more than I realized at the time. At one point we considered putting a pool in our own backyard. We talked about it, pictured the summers. It never happened. The reason was simple, and it had less to do with cost or space: I wasn’t confident enough in the water to feel good about it.
Somewhere in that hesitation, a question started to form. What if the pool itself could help? Not an alarm that announces something has already gone wrong. Not a device someone has to remember to put on. Something built quietly into the water that would simply lift you up if you ever needed it.
Fear doesn’t only prevent accidents. It prevents experiences.
Children who never learn. Adults who stay in the shallow end. Backyards that stay empty. A safety net isn’t only there for the worst day — it changes what feels possible on all the ordinary ones.
AquaVayU™ began as an answer to a personal question: Could a pool provide one more layer of protection when someone needs help?

“I’ve loved engineering for as long as I can remember. As a kid I wanted to know how things worked, and I never really stopped asking.
“That curiosity turned into almost two decades of work in engineering and related fields. Even in roles that weren’t strictly engineering, I kept thinking like an engineer. I approached problems methodically and paid close attention to the details.
“My education gave that way of thinking its foundation. A Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University grounded me in the technical side. An MBA from Lehigh University added the business side — how to take an idea from a prototype to a product. Together, they let me approach AquaVayU™ as both an engineering problem and a real product.
“AquaVayU™ is where that lifelong approach meets something deeply personal: keeping the people and pets we love safe around water. The goal is simple: to give families the confidence I once wished I had in the pool, and the peace of mind that comes with it.”
